Another finding that is also interesting is the presence of the Martian atmosphere which is thin but rich in the smell of sulfur. The presence of these gas stocks may be indicative of biological or geological processes. Examining other gases in the atmosphere is also important; for example, the presence of methane, which can be produced by microbes or other geological processes. Using sensitive instruments, Perseverance can detect fluctuations in the concentration of this gas in the Martian atmosphere. The rover also takes high-quality photos that help scientists observe the morphology of the Martian surface. The images show features that could have harbored microbes in the past. Deeper study of this morphology will help map areas more precisely for searching for traces of life. In addition, mining and land processing activities on Mars are a concern. Microbes that lived in the past probably used these minerals to survive. More research is needed to understand how, if at all, microbial life could adapt to the extreme environment on Mars. Understanding these interactions is critical to determining whether life might be found on other planets in the future. The discovery of all this data not only improves our understanding of Mars, but also of the conditions that formed life in various environments. By continuing the Mars mission, scientists are trying to find out whether these signals of life will lead to monumental discoveries.
